The holiday season has officially kicked off and you know what that means…sweet treats, indulgent dishes, festive holiday parties, grabbing a bite at the food court while shopping…and the pounds and bloated bellies that accompany those fun times.  Days grow busier and shorter, while consciously healthy eating and workouts become obsolete.   We all go into the season saying “I’m not … Continue reading

NROLFW Day 1

I was so happy for the weekend to get here, but it has been a busy one! With Thanksgiving this week T and I did a lot of grocery shopping, and I did some prepwork in the kitchen–baking bread for the stuffing and preparing Parker house rolls for dinner on Thursday.  I also finished my … Continue reading

Runner’s World 2012 Holiday Running Streak

Who’s in? This challenge starts with a race for me–the Blue Talon Bistro Turkey Trot 5k in Williamsburg.  Can’t wait! (As for the weightlifting, that will start on Saturday…too much sitting at work equals very stiff hip flexors for me—foam rolling and yoga for now 🙂

Race Report: Richmond Half Marathon

4:30am came a little too early… I didn’t do my usual routine of jumping right out of bed and getting ready…I wanted to stay in the perfect comfy bed until the absolute last-minute!  Alas, we got up, ate bagels and peanut butter and started getting ready for the race.   Way too early and cold … Continue reading
